OPEN THEME:
Aside from a 16-inch size limitation, there is no specified theme for this exhibition. All works of art, regardless of subject, style, or medium, are eligible. SHIFT showcases a diverse selection of contemporary art. Artists are encouraged to submit work that takes creative risks, challenges familiar forms, and explores ideas that may feel uncomfortable or unresolved.
JUROR:
Barbara Sexton, Artist and Professor of Fine Art,
Retired San Diego Mesa College
Barbara Sexton is a visual artist and educator, living and working in San Diego, California.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, Florida, in Mathematics, and a Master of Arts and Letters (painting/printmaking) from San Diego State University (SDSU).
Barbara Sexton's art practice spans a broad range of disciplines, including installation, public art, drawing, photography, digital media, and technology. Her latest projects examine the binary systems of the human experience and mapping the covert elements that provoke human attraction or repulsion and contribute to their potential to bestow power and control. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally.
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to all current members of the Artists Guild.
Two-dimensional and three-dimensional works in all media are eligible.
