The Jhansi Series marks a powerful return to a thematic foundation first explored by Sid Katragadda in a widely acclaimed, sold-out 2010 exhibition. This brand-new body of 10 large-scale abstract paintings reprises and re-imagines the legacy of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi. Moving far beyond traditional, romanticized historical realism, the collection employs aggressive geometric and compositional distortions to critique how time, colonialism, and nationalism fracture and reshape historical truth.
