Misty Forest: Merced River in Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park in Northern California is one of my favorite places to take photographs. It has changed greatly over hte years and yet much remains the same. The year I took this photograph the Merced River in heavy flow throwing up mists of water vapor into the air. The mist gave a soft quality to the trees. The soft greens and bluish white water create a contrast against the dark brown/black trunks of the trees.  I used my Nikon F3 film camera and used slide film for this shot.

To give my photographs a quality akin to a fine oil painting, I print them on medium-weight artist quality mat canvas and ship them ready for stretching and framing. The inks used to make the print are light fast and permanent and should last for well over 100 years. I spray a protective coating over the canvas to ensure that the image will have a long lifetime.
