La Jolla Tide Pools

I never tire of the extraordinarily beautiful coastline right here in La Jolla.  In this oil pastel scene, I was inspired by the interesting wave-like patterns worn into the rock surface by the persistant ebb and flow action of the ocean, and the different way that visitors to this rocky beach enjoy the spot.  Some gaze out at the waves, and others enthusiastically explore what treasures might be found in the exposed tide pools.
