Eastern Sierras

I took this photograph on a trip to the Bishop/Lone Pine area of California on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This is the area where Ansel Adams took a lot of his famous photographs. I took this shot in with black and white film to emphasize the differences in contrast from the very dark to the very light tones.

To give my photographs a quality akin to a fine oil painting, I like to print them on medium-weight artist quality mat canvas and ship them ready for stretching and framing. The inks used to make the print are light fast and permanent and should last for well over 100 years. I spray a protective coating over the canvas to ensure that the image will have a long lifetime.
