When Wendy dances, I see in her face a world which is expressive, stimulating and graceful. Her finger symbols and hair and sparkle with energy and communication. I want you to feel in your body the enthusiastic fluidity and exuberant rhythms of her African tribal belly dancing.
On a onyx base, this bronze sculpture is colored with patinas of liver of sulfur, ferric nitrate and dye oxides of purple, yellow, black and white. This is a first in an edition of nine.
In June 2004 Belly Dancing was juried in the Fine Art Exhibition at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar, CA. Then in November of the same year The Crafts Report Magazine did an Online Exclusive of me which included Belly Dancing. Then she was juried into an Art of Caring show at San Diego Hospice in California, 2005.
